It’s Okay to be Unsure About Your Life.

Snapseed 3Snapseed 5

I recently had a bit of a freak out over my life. I suddenly realised that I no longer want to do what I’ve been planning to do over the last few years. I wanted to give up on everything I had worked towards.

I’ve wanted to be a makeup artist for so long, and I spent a good few years in college studying and training to be a makeup artist, and I absolutely loved doing it. I learnt everything from fashion, beauty, face and body painting, special effects and hair styling, and I love being so creative and artistic all the time. Yet after taking a year off before going to uni, I suddenly came to the realisation that I don’t want to do this as a career. I don’t want to go to university for 3 years and spend thousands and thousands of pounds on something that I no longer love. That would be a waste.

Telling my mum that I had changed my mind was awful, but in the end I had no reason to stress as she was so supportive of my choice. She genuinely wants what is best for me, and if I’m not happy then why should I continue with it for another 3 years.

Snapseed 4

So the question is now, what do I want to do? And the answer is I have no idea! I’m 22 and I have no idea what I want to do with my life, which kind of stressed me out to start with.

Over the last couple of days I started to piece my life together and figure out what I want to do, and for the now I don’t want to give myself a solid plan. Like I said, I’m 22 and in the grand scheme of things, thats not old at all. I have years to figure myself out, so I’m going to take it step by step.

For now my plan is to get myself a full time job, and save money. One of the things I’m desperate to do is go travelling. I’ve seen some of Europe throughout my life, but I want to see more. So at the moment, my plan is to interrail around Europe in the summer of 2019. That gives me a year and a half to save my money, and have the experience of a life time. I’m going to talk more about my travelling plans in a separate blog post, so keep an eye out for that. Other than that, I want to work a lot on this blog. I absolutely love blogging, and writing whats on my mind, so hopefully this blog will become bigger and better. And if i do go travelling that will make for some amazing content, which I’m already excited to write!

So the purpose of this post is to basically say that its okay to not know what you want to do. These things will come to you in time, and I’m okay with waiting for that moment.

How I keep Organised | 2018 bullet Journal

IMG_0023IMG_0024IMG_0025IMG_0026IMG_0027IMG_0029 copy

I absolutely love organising, and I like to think I’m a very organised person in general. I love writing things down, and keeping weekly planners, and after watching so many videos on Bullet Journals I wanted to start my 2018 by making a one for myself.

The Journal I had was a Christmas gift, so I’m not actually sure where its from, but you can find tons on Amazon, for really affordable prices.

I wanted to keep my Bullet Journal really simple, and easy to keep up with. I didn’t want to use fancy writing, and crazy designs on every page, as for one I’m terrible at those things, and two it takes so long.  I also wanted to only include spreads that are suited to me, and I know I will actually fill out.

My title page is super simple, with the circle design, and the title in the middle. I wanted to add some more design to the second page, which is why I kept it so simple. For the Index I decided to add this star design, which took quite a while, and is what made me decide to keep to quite a simple design throughout, but I do love it, and thank it looks super pretty!

The next two pages were my yearly diary. These spreads are super handy to have, as its great to refer to, when doing your monthly spreads. I again kept this spread really simple, with the simple lines around the edges, and the pink over the months is there to add a bit of colour to the spread.

After this is where it gets more personal to me, and what I wanted to include in my journal. I added a 2018 Goals page, to keep track of what goals i want to achieve. I split this up into categories; Blogging, Fitness and Money, and I also added another section, reminding me to read 12 books throughout the year.

On the next page over I have a reading list page. I really like the layout of this spread, and its one of the more decorative pages in my journal. I haven’t added any books yet, as I need recommendations, so if you have any, leave them down below please!

Moving on to my tracker pages. My first tracker is my fitness tracker. My goal for the year is to workout a minimum of three days a week, so I’ve spread out the page in months, with the months split into weeks, and each week has three sections for me to fill in whenever I workout. Hopefully by the end of year all of it will be filled in.

Opposite that I have my period tracker. I’m terrible at remembering to log these, so this way I hopefully will.

Next up is my Social Media logins. This is to help me keep track of my social media accounts and the logins of them.

The last spread is my Social media Tracker. I’ve spilt this up into Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WordPress; and since photographing I’ve added Pinterest onto the end too. This is to keep track of the change in my followers monthly, and to see where I need to improve my engagement.

So those are my spreads for my 2018 Bullet journal! If you have one, let me know what spreads you’ve included in yours!

How I’m Going to Save Money in 2018

I’m absolutely rubbish when it comes to money. I have zero savings, and when I have money in my account I just spend it. One of my goals for 2018 is to save as much as I can for a trip I want to go on to new York in a couple of years time. So these are some of the things I’m going t try and do over the year to help me save. If you have any more tips then please, please let know!

  1. Set up a savings account, with a direct debit. – I want to have a direct debit sent to my savings account every month on payday, with a set amount of money to save. This way that money is already in my savings and I won’t be as tempted to spend it recklessly.
  2. Meal Prep for work- Working in a restaurant means there is always food on hand when I don’t bring any with me, but we have to pay for it, and while we do get a discount, it all adds up, and I end up spending so much money on food in work.
  3. Using my own coffee- Carrying on with my previous point, I’m always buying coffee in work, and when I’m out and about, so carrying around a reusable cup with coffee made at home will save me a small fortune. Maybe I’ll treat myself to a starbucks/costa once a week, as apposed to my multiple cups a week.
  4. Shopping my Stash- I used to do this a lot with my makeup, so I want to try it with my wardrobe too. I have so much makeup and fashion items that I can’t even remember half of what I’ve got, so I’m going to shop through my own things every few months and bring out old favourites that I’ve forgotten about instead of buying new things to add to the stash.
  5. Unsubscribe from email lists- You know those boxes you tick next to the terms and conditions, that you don’t even think about not pressing. Yeah they always mean that you’re going to end up with tonnes of emails from all the brands you shop at, giving you discount codes and letting you know when new products are released. The temptation is always too much and I end up spending my money. Unsubscribe from them! The temptation will be gone! You won’t even know about that 20% off party dresses sale!
  6. Set a weekly budget- I like to set myself a budget for the week, go to the bank, take the money out of my account and live off of that cash for the week. Make sure you know how much you need for bills etc, and work around that. Hide your card away, give it to your mum/partner etc. and ask for it back when the week is over. You can budget enough for your plans for the week, petrol for your car or other means of transport etc. and also keep an amount aside as a back up incase you have any spontaneous plans, and if not save it!

So those are the tips I’m going to be putting into action this year to save money! New York I will be coming back in a few years, with all the money to blow in Sephora and Bath and Body Works!

Goodbye 2017 | Hello 2018.

2017. Where do we begin… It’s not been a bad year for me at all. In fact, this year has been a pretty positive one!

*2017 Highlights*

I went to Paris twice! The first time being with Uni, and we had the opportunity to go to Makeup Forever for a Masterclass with them, which was incredible! The second time was with some of my best friends and we went to Disneyland! There is a Vlog of it HERE. Both trips were so fun, and I can’t wait to hopefully go back in 2018!

2017 also brought some of my best friends into my life from work.  These girls are amazing and definitely friends for life!

I have seen some amazing concerts, including Arianna Grande, Justin Bieber and Little Mix! All of which were incredible.

2017 was also the year I really starting taking this blog seriously, during the summer to be exact. I had dropped out of uni to take a year off, and I wanted something creative to do to keep me busy, so I came back to this blog. It has really helped me keep creative and busy, and I’m so glad I have taken it this seriously. I’ve met some great friends through my blog- Darcy, Lauren and Katy, and I have really loved every moment of it! I also think my photography has improved a lot too! I love setting up flat lays and taking beautiful pictures. I can’t wait to carry on in 2018.

*2018 Goals*

In 2018 I have a few things I want to achieve. The first being, I want to get a new job! As much as I like my job at the moment, and the people I work with are the best, I really don’t want to be working in a restaurant for much longer. I want a job that will help me progress within the career I want, which is makeup. So my goal for the next few months is to find a makeup related job!

Another goal for 2018 is to socialise more. I’m a very stay at home, on my own and have a  lazy day kinda girl, and I want to change that. I want more spontaneous and planned nights out, I want to go on random road trips to wherever I end up with friends and just go on days out in general. I need to get out of my own bubble and get out more!

One that most people want to do, is to get fitter and healthier, and I’m definitely one of those people! I love going to the gym, but its just the thought of having to go that puts me off. I want to get into a routine of going a few times a week at least, and to alter my eating habits a bit, and add more balanced meals, and less rubbish snacks. I’m happy with how my body looks at the moment, but thats not to say I wouldn’t like to be more toned and slim, because I do, and that is my goal for 2018.

As for my blog, I want to start posting twice a week, and I really want to incorporate more fashion into my blog. I have a friend who’s more than willing to help me out with photos, so be prepared for fashionista Beki, coming soon! I also want to hit a milestone within my blog, and my followers/page views. I’m not too sure yet what my goal is for this, so I may do monthly goals, to make it more realistic for me.

So heres to a great 2017, and bring on an even better 2018!

Looking back on 2017

Christmas Header.jpg

2017 has been a great year! I’ve really discovered who I am as a person and I’ve collected so many memories! I love the fact that I’m always capturing some of my favourite moments on camera. I was scrolling through my Instagram and all of my favourite memories are there, so I thought it would be really fun to go through my Instagram on here and share some of my favourite memories of 2017.

So lets start WAY back to New Years Eve of 2016. I spent New Years with my work family, and I got WAY to drunk. I had such a good night, with such a great group of people.

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.14.24

So moving on to the end of January, I went to a drag Show and I got to meet Kim Chi! This was so exciting as I LOVE Drag Queens, and everything they stand for. Kim Chi is absolutely beautiful and her makeup is literally art.

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.14.42

February brought a day trip to London for the Kryolan Bag Sale. This was such a fun day, and I got £950 worth of makeup for £80. I’ll definitely be going again in 2018. We also explored London and visited the V&A Museum.

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.15.00

February also included a Leaving Do for my friend Naomi. She was leaving her job in David Lloyd to move back home, so we went out to celebrate.

Moving onto to March. This was a great month as my university had a trip to Paris! We travelled to Paris by coach/ferry, and we got to have a masterclass with Makeup Forever, and we also spent the day exploring Paris.

Skipping a whole month, were going straight to May, which is my Birthday month! May brought with it a change in appearance. I went blonde! I’ve previously had blonde hair and it felt good to go back.

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.16.38

This month I was also reunited with one of my best friends Beky (read her blog HERE). We road tripped to Birmingham to see Ariana Grande in concert, and it was such a good show. It was also so amazing to see Beky again after so long! (She features quite a lot on this post!)

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.16.49

I got to spend my Birthday week at my caravan in Tenby with some of my best friends! It was such a good week of relaxing, drinking and visiting theme parks.

Finally for May, one of our family friends got married! We were invited to the really small ceremony and the reception was also beautiful. It was such a lovely day.

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.17.26

To kick off June, myself and my mum went on a day trip to Bath to do a spot of shopping. I love Bath as its such a pretty place to visit. my brothers actually in Uni there now, so I have even more of an excuse to visit!

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.17.41

On our trip to Bath I bought these gorgeous trousers, which have been a staple piece in my wardrobe, and probably one of my favourite purchases of 2017.

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.17.58

Finally for June, I saw Justin Bieber in concert! It was such a good night, full of dancing, drinking and laughs. It was also the day of my friends birthday night out, so we headed off to town afterwards, to dance the night away.

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.18.08

In July I finally started to master the art that is a Flat Lay! It took a lot of practise and a lot of deleted shots, but as I’m writing this post, I’m feeling pretty damn good about my Flat Lay skills.

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.18.21

July is the month of Bekys Baby Shower! I didn’t mention it previously, but while we were seeing Ariana Grande she was currently 6 months pregnant! Her baby shower was so cute, and I was so excited to meet her little squishy in the coming months!

The end of July saw one of my close friends get married! This year is full of weddings! The wedding was so beautiful, and the reception was in a museum, which was gorgeous!

Congratulations Gill and Andrew!

August was a great month also. I went on holiday! Myself and a ton of my family set off to Cape Verde for a week! The week was full of sun, rain, relaxing and very average cocktails.

The end of August came with the idea and creation of The Girls Who Vlog and Blog. If you don’t know what this is, its a group blog and YouTube channel, created by myself, Katy, Darcy and Lauren. These girls are like sisters to me now, even though it hasn’t been that long since we’ve known each other.

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.20.19

September brought another hair change! One that I really came to regret a few weeks later. I went for a silver/blonde shade, and I spent 7 hours in the hairdressers, only for me to not like it weeks later.

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.50.19

The end of September I discovered my love for sitting in coffee shops for hours reading a book. I did this on a day where I was feeling pretty low, and alone, and I felt so at ease, sitting on a sofa with a book and my favourite flat white coffee. I spent a few hours there and I haven’t felt that relaxed in a long time.

Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 14.20.36

October has probably been my favourite month of the year! I started off the year with another new hair look! I didn’t like the blonde so I went back to my roots, and I’m a brunette again!

I got to meet some of my best friends for the first time! I met Darcy and Katy (unfortunately Lauren couldn’t come).

During this month I went to Paris! This is a trip I’ve had booked since May and it was such a magical trip! We spent 3 days in Disney and a day in Paris, and it was such a good week.

Shortly after Paris one of my friends got married, and I had the pleasure of doing her makeup!

I also went ‘Out Out’ in October! This is a VERY rare occurrence, but I loved getting really dressed up and although I got a tad too drunk I still had a fab night with all of my work friends!

And finally to finish October I saw Little Mix on Halloween! And my gorgeous friend Beky came with me, even though it was her first birthday with her little baba! We had such a great night and we couldn’t get over how close we were to out girl crush Perrie Edwards!

Moving onto November, and another trip up to Wiltshire to see Beky, Madison and Melody! I love day trips up to see these guys, and I hope next year I can squeeze in more!

I also went to my first ever Ball this month, which was awesome. I love getting all dressed up and shopping for a ball gown!

A friend of mine is getting married in December so I got to go to her Hen Party this month too! We did a cocktail making class in Slug and Lettuce which was fab!

We’re in December! This is a full, packed month and I’ve got so much going on!

Firstly we have two outings for my nans 80th birthday, with the first being afternoon tea at the Angel Hotel. It was such a lovely afternoon with a few of my family members.

It snowed! It may have been the most pathetic attempt at snow in Cardiff but it was the first snowfall of December, and it made me feel so festive! Heres hoping for more coming up!

I went to Bristol zoo for the first time ever this month too! It was absolutely freezing and loads of the animals didn’t want to come out but it was still a great day!

Third and final wedding of the year! One of my close friends Naomi got married in Brecon and it was such a fun night, spent with a great group of friends!

The day after the wedding was my works Christmas Party, which was again another great night!

I came across Dot Creates after seeing Louise Peatland mention them on her Instagram and the products looks so goddamn cute! I instantly went online and looked into the brand and came across the cutest blogger stationery sets! The brand is a small, independent business, created by Danielle Timcke, and the products are absolutely beautiful!

I decided to buy the Blogger Essentials Box, as it gave me the opportunity to try out a bunch of things for a cheaper price. Sticker Sheet, A5 ‘Eat, Sleep, Blog, Repeat’ Print, A5 ‘Life is Better in Rose Gold’ Print, A6 ‘Do More of What Makes You Happy’ Print, A6 ‘Learn to Rest, Not Quit’ Print, and Gold Foil Pencil Set.

Handbag Essentials

handbag essentials

I used to be one of those people who carried their whole life in their handbag. I would lug that thing around on a daily basis, and it was so heavy and I never used half of the things in there.  Lately I’ve switched to a smaller bag, which is the Michael Kors Sloan Small Quilted-Leather Shoulder Bag. I absolutely love the look of this bag! Its such a gorgeous design and the colour is perfect for the Autumn season. Inside the bag there are a few different compartments, two being open with a zipped pocket in-between these. As well as another small zipped pocket.

So what do I carry around with me on a daily basis?

My purse or cardholder– I tend to switch between the two, depending on if I have cash or not. At the moment i’m opting for my purse which is from Michael kore (Not available anymore).

My Phone- I have the IPhone 6, and I don’t go anywhere without it. I’m constantly on Instagram, Twitter and keeping up to date on my blog when on the go.

Sunglasses- My current favourite pair as these gorgeous Metal Square ones from Carvella.

Headphones- When I’m out and about listening to music is always a must!

Lipstick- I always make sure to have the lipstick I’m wearing that day in my bag for touchups.

Powder Brush- I don’t carry any powder with me, but i find a brush so handy to help takeaway the shine on my face when needed. My brush tends to have some excess product on anyway.

Hand Cream- There is nothing I hate more than dry hands, and the Crabtree and Evelyn hand creams are my absolute fave!

Perfume- These little tester perfumes are so handy for carrying around with you. They take up so little space, and its a great way of trying out new scents.

A mirror- Always handy to carry around, as I find the iPhone front camera is pretty rubbish.

25 Things Before I’m 25

Hey guys!

So I’ve had this idea floating around my head for a while now. I’m 22 years old, and there are so many things I want to achieve over the next few years, so I came up with the idea of 25 things to do before I turn 25. This post is going to include some really big things I want to achieve over the next 3 years, as well as little things that can easily be achieved, but I’ve yet to do them.

I love the idea of looking back at this post when I do turn 25, and seeing all of the things I’ve achieved and completed, and the things I didn’t get the chance to do.

I also thought it would be a great idea to make this into a tag! I’d love to see what others want to do over the next few years, and even if you’re over 25 then make this ’30 before 30′ or ’35 before 35′ etc.

So grab yourself a tea or coffee and get comfortable, as this will probably be quite a long post…

  1. Reach 1,000 followers on this blog.– I’m currently on 39 followers as I write this, so I have a longggg way to go with this one, but I’m determined to get my arse into gear and really work hard on this blog. So I’m really hoping to achieve this goal, or more if possible.
  2. Get to my desired level of fitness.- Now I’m by no means big or unhealthy, but I’m unhappy with my fitness, and I generally want to be a lot more healthy, and I want to feel better in my own skin. So my goal is to feel healthy and comfortable.
  3. Save £5,000.-I’m planning on travelling a lot, and with working full-time and living with my parents still, I’m going to have a lot of money spare, so I want to save as much of it as possible. Hopefully my awful spending habits won’t get in the way of that.
  4. Stop recklessly spending.- This point carry’s on from number 3. As I mentioned I’m pretty bad with my money, and I like to just spend, spend, spend. So my goal is to record all of my spendings over the next few years, so I can see where my money is going, and where I can cut back. I’ve already been doing this and I can already see that I’m spending so much unnecassary money on food and coffee.
  5. Go Travelling.- This is already in the works. Myself and 3 friends are planning to go travelling around Europe, during the summer in 2019. Any suggestions of places to visit would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Go to a festival.- Considering I’ve been to so many concerts, I’ve never been to a festival, and its defiantly something I really want to do!
  7. Meal Prep for a week, and actually stick to it.- Like I said, there will be little things on this list, that may seem a bit silly and easy to do, but sticking to a meal plan, and meal prepping for a whole week is something that I’ve never been able to do, so I really want to try it out, and see if it makes a difference to my daily routine.
  8. Make more time for my friends.- This is a really simple thing, but I sometimes find it hard to spend time with my friends, due to my work schedule, their work schedule, managing my blog and general life. So I want to take some time each month to go for a coffee, or go and visit my friends whenever I can.
  9. Work on a TV show/Film.- If you didn’t know I’m a makeup artist, and I’m trained in TV and Film makeup, as well as SFX and some prosthetics, so working on a TV show or a film, whether that be paid or as work experience would be amazing, and is something I would love to experience.
  10. Buy a Chanel Handbag.- Wishful thinking I know, but one of my goals in life is to own a Chanel Handbag and if I can achieve this before I’m 25 then even better.
  11. Reach 1,000 subscribers on YouTube.- Pretty much the same as Number one, but on YouTube.
  12. Have a Boyfriend.- Now if any of my close friends are reading this they will most probably laugh, because I’m always saying ‘I don’t need a boyfriend’ or ‘I’m happy on my own’, and while that is true, lately I’ve started to feel like I’m at a point in my life where being with someone would be nice and less lonely.
  13. Go back to Uni.- This is most definitely going to happen, hopefully next year. The course I had done last year was, to put it lightly, a disaster, so going back somewhere else, and getting the skills I want to achieve in Makeup is definitely important to me.
  14. Go to Blogger Meet up’s.- I love meeting new bloggers, and getting to know the people behind the blog so going to meet ups is a great way of doing this, whilst also having a lovely day out. Myself and my best blogger gals (Katy, Darcy & Lauren) are holding a blogger event in Birmingham in October and it would be great to see loads of faces there! For more Information click HERE
  15. Read more blogs.- I don’t actually read that many blogs, and I feel so bad about it! I feel like I would gain so much more inspiration by reading more blogs, and I really want to support more bloggers, so that is a huge goal for me.
  16. Work with brands.- I would love the opportunity to collaborate with brands on my blog. I love finding new brands and products, and I love testing out new things.
  17. Give something back to my parents.- My parents are amazing, and have done so much for me and my brother, and I would love to be able to give them something special to show how much they mean to me.
  18. Go on a spontaneous Road trip.- I love the idea just getting into my car with a friend and driving where we want to. I’d love to randomly pick a place on a map and just go there and explore the area.
  19. Do a skydive/bungee jump.- I love the idea of jumping out of a plane. It may sound crazy, but I think it would be so much fun!
  20. Climb Pen Y Fan.- If you don’t know what Pen Y Fan is, its a mountain in South Wales, thats really popular to walk up. It’s literally on my doorstep.. well an hour away, but I’ve never climbed up it before.
  21. Try being Vegan for a week.- The Vegan diet is so interesting to me, and although I absolutely love fish and cheese, I would love to try being vegan for a bit. I’m not a fussy eater at all, so I feel like I’ll do just fine with it.
  22. Vlog.- I really want to Vlog my trips and days out. I love the idea of being able to look back at a really great day, and being able to re-live it. I’m definitely going to be Vlogging my trips to both Birmingham and Disneyland next month.
  23. Get another tattoo.- I only have one tattoo so far, which I got 4 years ago, and I’ve wanted another one ever since. I’m determined to have it done soon!
  24. Move out.- This probably won’t happen, but I’m really hoping it does. As much as I love living at home, and having my parents help with everything, the thought of having my own space, my own kitchen and bathroom etc. really appeals to me.
  25. Make a second a day video for the year.- I saw Zoella do this not too long ago, and its such a cute idea! You basically take a one second clip every day of the year and combine them all into one video at the end. Such a cute project to do over the year. (Zoe’s video HERE)

So there you have it. 25 things to achieve before I turn 25. I hope this posts inspired you to consider what you want to achieve in your life.
