My Current Beauty Favourites

I’ve found myself not as into makeup as I’ve always been lately. I’ve had a lot more makeup free days, than days wearing makeup. That being said when I do wear makeup I’ve been going back to the same few products over and over again.

As a base I’ve been loving the Sleek Lifeproof Foundation. This is a medium coverage foundation, but I’ve been wearing a light layer of it, and its helped to even out my skin tone, and it makes my skin look fresh and natural. I’ve really been trying to embrace my skin lately, and I’ve finally got a skin care routine that I love and is working for me, so this foundation has been great at showing my natural skin, but also evening out my uneven skin tone.

Along side that, I’ve been loving the ColourPop No Filter Concealer. This is such a creamy concealer, with great coverage, which is perfect for me as my under eye circles are SO bad. This also does not crease on me at all, which is rare in a concealer! The only downside is that it oxidises quite a bit, but I find once its been blended in its really not that noticeable. Just go for a shade lighter than you think you’d need.

The last makeup product I’ve really been loving is the Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless pressed powder. I’ve really struggled to find a powder that I can use under my eyes to set my concealer, that doesn’t look cakey or crease instantly, but this one is perfect. I apply it using a power puff and I press it into my skin, and brush away the excess. This has been working so perfectly for me and its so cheap too!

As I mentioned earlier I’ve found a skin care routine that I’ve been absolutely loving lately, and pretty much all of it is from L’Oreal. The first product I’ve been loving is the Hydra Genius Aloe Water Moisturiser. I’ve been loving this as it’s a gel, rather than a cream and it feels so much lighter on my skin, but still gives my skin the moisture it needs.

The next product is the Smooth Sugars Glow Scrub. This smells incredible and has worked so well on my skin. I use it on dry skin to make it work more effectively, and it makes my skin feel so smooth and soft, but also gives it a really lovely glow. Its not a harsh scrub either, so it feels gentle on the skin, and not like its causing damage like other scrubs I’ve used in the past.

The last product I’ve been obsessed with the is Pure Clay Glow Mask. I use this alongside the Detox mask, which is also amazing. The Glow mask really helps to brighten the appearance of the skin and makes the skin feel so smooth, as it includes exfoliants in it which help to remove dry skin.

My skin has felt amazing, and my bank balance is pretty happy with it to, when compared to all of the Kiehls products I used to use. You can get amazing skin care for a small price and I’m so happy I’ve finally realised this.

The Estee Lauder Edit.

Estee Lauder isn’t a brand I typically went to when makeup shopping. I’ve been a big fan of the Double Wear foundation for quite a while, but other than that I was never that bothered by the brand in general; until recently. I’ve always heard so many amazing reviews of the Bronze Goddess bronzer, and having been on the hunt for a new bronzer I decided to pop to the counter to see what all the fuss is about.

When arriving at the counter I went straight to one of the sales assistants, wanting to try out the bronzer right away, as well as get coloured matched for the Double Wear foundation again. I loved the bronzer instantly and it went straight into my basket, along with the foundation.

On this particular day, there was a huge promotion on the counter, meaning if you bought 2 products you got a bag of goodies for free! Now I was expecting a few samples maybe, but I was so shocked when I saw what was being given out!

In this set you got a really cute makeup bag, with 2 full sized lipsticks (A nude-pink and a deep purple), a full sized nude lipliner, a mini pink lipgloss, and 3 travel sized skin care products, including the Day Wear moisturiser, the Perfectly Clean foam cleanser and the Nightwear Plus 3-minute Detox Mask.

Having tried the majority of these products now, I can safely say I am an Estee Lauder fan, and I will definitely be shopping at the counter again! I am so impressed with the skin care products; my skin has never felt better.

The lipsticks are so creamy and long wearing, and I am obsessed with the nude-pink shade (Shade- Intense Nude), as it is the perfect everyday nude lipstick. The deep purple (Shade- Insolent Plum) is the perfect Autumnal purple and I cannot wait to wear this, and to feature it in some outfit posts!

What are you favourite Estee Lauder products, and what do I need to try next??

My Makeup Collection

I haven’t posted on YouTube for quite some time now, and its something I keep thinking about going back to, as I loved it so much. So I’ve gone and done it. I’ve recored a new video!

I thought my makeup collection would be a good video to start with. I love watching these videos, and its such a fun one to make!

Just a quick disclaimer! I’m in no way bragging about the makeup I have. I know I have a lot, but I am training to be a makeup artist so it’s for my job!

Hope you enjoy, and let me know what other videos you want to see from me! Also make sure you subscribe too!

The Best Drugstore Highlight Palette?!

Bold Statement I know! But I have never found an affordable highlight palette as good as this one.

The Lottie London Shimmer Squad includes four shades, ranging from a near white gold, up to a darker bronze shade, meaning its perfect for most skin tones! The pigmentation of these highlighters is what got me! They are SO pigmented! You only need the smallest amount for the most glowy look. I am a sucker for an intense, ‘Wow’ highlight, and this is perfect for me. The texture is super creamy and doesn’t look cakey on the skin, and even though its super pigmented it gives quite a natural glow when used sparingly.

The four shades include;

The Good Girl- A pinky gold shade

The Flirt- A dark bronze shade

The Troublemaker- A white Gold Shade

The Queen Bee- An orangey Gold Shade

Like I mentioned before, theres literally a shade for everyone. This has become my go-to highlight palette, and it even tops some of my higher end highlighters, such as Anastasia Beverly Hills and MAC.

For £9.99, that’s only £2.50 per highlighter, which is an absolute bargain. This is a huge favourite of mine at the moment, and I’m sure its going to be a staple in my makeup bag for a long time!

MOTN | Blue and Smokey

I absolutely love a smokey eye! For this night I wanted to do something a little bit different and a little bit more dramatic, as myself and some friends were off to see Kim Chi! If you don’t know who she is, she’s a drag queen, and Oh My Gosh, she is beautiful! Her makeup skills are flawless.

So the main focus of this makeup look is of course the eyes. I used mainly the Kryolan Brights palette, as well as the dark blue shade from the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani palette. The glitter I’m wearing in the corner of my eyes is the Kiko Glitter liner, and it is beautiful!

The rest of my face includes…

Base- Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, Rimmel Match Perfection concealer, NARS Loose Powder in Snow.

Contour- Anastasia Beverly Hills, both Cream and powder contour palettes.

Bronzer- NARS Laguna

Blush- NARS Orgasm

Highlight- Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit, That Glow

Brows- Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow, Medium Brown

Lashes- Ardell Demi Wispies

Lips- MAC Velvet Teddy

Top 5 | My favourite Liquid Lipsticks

Pretty much every popular makeup brand around has there own version of the Liquid Lipstick available now. The liquid lipstick is a huge craze amongst makeup fans and artists, and pretty much everyone has tried at least one. I personally am a huge fan, and having tried multiple brands I have come across a handful that I absolutely love.

The Bourjois Rouge Edition velvet lip cream  is super comfortable and don’t feel dry on the lips. I find these tend to stain the lips so the colour stays put all day. They are really creamy but look completely matte, and I absolutely love them. These comes in around 20 shades I believe, and retail for only £8.99, which I think is a total bargain.

The Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks are my all time favourite lip product. I know this a very controversial brand, with a lot of people not liking Jeffree Star himself, but I think regardless of that his brand is absolutely amazing. These liquid lipsticks are super long wearing, pigment, matte, comfortable on the lips and come in an amazing variety of colours. I currently own 16 of these and I will definitely be ordering more. They are insane! I purchase these from Beautybay.com and they retail for £16 each.

The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are a favourite of mine, even though I’ve only tried the one shade. The shade I have is Lolita 2 and is such a beautiful shade. I find these are quite similar to the Bourjois ones, as it feels really creamy on the lips. This will not budge when you wear it, and the pigmentation is amazing. I defiantly want to try a load more of these! The only downside I have found to this is that the wand is to long, and it can be difficult to be precise when applying it. These retail for £16 also.

The NYX soft matte lip creams are super creamy and comfortable on the lips. The feel like a regular lipstick but have the staying power of a liquid lipstick. They are super pigment and long wearing, and super cheap too. The colour choice is insane, there are colours for every occasion, and colours to suit every skin tone. I have tonnes of these and I love them! They retail for only £5.50!

Lastly the priciest of them all! The Kylie Lip Kits! For the most part I do really love these. The pigmentation is great, the staying power is amazing and the shades are beautiful. the only thing I’m not too keen on with these is that you can’t really layer them too much without them getting bitty and uncomfortable to wear. Thin layers work best, and if I want to reapply I’ll always remove the layer I’m wearing. As I mentioned these are pretty pricey, and being from the UK the custom fee’s are a bitch, but I do love to treat my self every now and again! These retail for ¢17 for just the lipstick or ¢29 for the lip kit.

All About Skincare!

Skin care to me is probably one of the most important parts of my makeup routine. It always feels wrong for me to put on a face of makeup with cleansing, toning and moisturising before hand.

Without skin care I would’t have the guts to go makeup less some days. It really has transformed my skin and I couldn’t go without it now.

Before I jump into my own skincare routine I thought I’d give you guys a few tips I’ve picked up over the years.

  1. Know your skin type! If you don’t know what skin type you have, buying skincare can be quite daunting. The four main skin types are dry, oily, combination and normal. When you know your skin type finding products to target your skin will be a lot easier.
  2. Get rid of those makeup wipes! There is nothing I hate more then makeup wipes. They are harsh on the skin, irritate eyes, and on some occasions pull out your eyelashes. They aren’t all that great for your skin, and there are a lot of quicker and easier ways of removing your makeup and cleansing your skin. Cream cleaners and cleansing balms are so much more gentle on the skin and remove all that makeup and dirt from your face in seconds. A few favourites of mine are the Emma Hardie cleansing balm, Liz Earl Cleanse and Polish and the Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean.
  3. Read reviews and learn about products before you buy them! Knowing what your buying before you get it makes your shopping experience so much easier and less stressful. And even if you only have a rough idea of what you want go to a few counters and ask for advice. 9 of out 10 times the people on the counters will be more than happy to help you and steer you into the right direction.
  4. Get into a routine of doing your skin care daily. I do mine every evening and every morning. I use a few extra products in the evening that will treat my skin as I sleep, meaning I wake up in the morning with glowy skin. If you stick at it every single day you will get into a routine of it and you will notice a huge difference in your skin.
  5. And lastly the most obvious thing. Water! Drink plenty of water. Your skin will really soak it up and it will make you look so much healthier and more awake. If your not a fan of plain water add chopped fruit to it, such as lemons, orange or watermelon.

Now moving onto my skincare routineAs I mentioned before my skin care routine is different morning and evening. My morning routine is super simple and easy to do if your in a rush. It takes no more than five minutes and always leaves my skin glowing.

My first step is cleansing. The product I use the most for cleansing is the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm. This is a solid balm that melts as you warm it up in your hands. I massage this into my skin, and using a damp cloth, wash it off. This leaves the skin super soft and clean.

After cleansing I tone. I use the Kiehls Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-free Toner. I use a small amount of this on a cotton pad and wipe it all over my face. Toning your skin picks up all the remaining dirt on your face, and removes any excess oils.

Next up is moisturiser. I use the Kiehls Ultra Facial cream. This is super hydrating and sinks into the skin really quickly. This keeps my skin feeling smooth and hydrated all day.

Lastly I use an eye cream. This isn’t essential, and sometimes I do skip this step. The eye cream I use is the Kiehls creamy eye treatment. This contains avocado which helps give you a radiant look to your skin, which is particularly great for under eye circles. This is quite thick eye cream so I only use it when I don’t need to put makeup on straight away or when my eye area is looking particularly tired.

That is pretty much it for my morning skin care routine. I like to keep it pretty simple, especially if I’m in a rush in the mornings.

My night time routine varies depending on the day. Some days I’ll use a face scrub and a mask and go all out, yet other days I keep it fairly simple, and pretty much the same as my morning routine. I use all of the same products from my morning routine in my night time routine, more so for convince and because I know they work well for me.

On a day where I go all out I will cleanse my skin using the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm. I  then use the Kiehls Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque. I apply this in a thick layer all over my skin and leave it for around 10 minutes and then remove it with a damp cloth. This mask really brightens and refreshes my complexion. The seeds exfoliate my skin as I remove it, removing all of the dead skin cells on my face.

After removing the mask I’ll use the Garner Micellar Water to remove any excess of the mask and to clean my skin further. I then go in with the Kiehls Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-free Toner again to remove the excess dirt and oils.

Next up I use one of my favourite products ever. The Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate. This is an oil which restores your skin as your sleep, leaving you with a really healthy complexion come the morning time. To apply this I use two drops and I pat them into my skin. I’m not 100% sure of the benefit of doing it this way, but when I bought the product that was how I was told to use it. This leaves my skin looking and feeling amazing. Its perfect for all skin types. Even oily!

After this step I moisturise using the Kiehls Ultra Face Cream and I then use the Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment.

The last two steps!

I love lip scrubs and my favourites are from LUSH. At the moment I’m using the LUSH Sugar Plum Fairy lip scrub. This removes all of the dead skin from my lips and it leaves my lips really soft. It also tastes amazing! Once I’ve exfoliated my lips I’ll moisturise them using the Kiehls Lip Balm #1. This is super moisturising and it repairs your lips as you sleep, meaning your lips are super soft when you wake up.

And that is it! If you’ve read until the end I applaud you!

I hope this post has helped any of you in need of skin care advice. I’m no expert, but I’ve learnt a lot over the years.

Make sure you stick around to read more posts!
